Dear friends,

Yesterday I purchased this lovely pink gingham sundress (circa 195o) from East Nashville’s best vintage clothing shop, The Hip Zipper.
I love this dress.  I feel like my five-year-old self in it.  I wish I could meet the woman or women who wore it before me.
How handy that this black chevy happened to be parked right near where I ate dinner with my pals.
After dinner we picked a few tunes and my roommate taught me some swing chords.  What a night!  What a town!
Thanks for reading friends.
Sincerely,
Nora Jane

My sometimes band-mate and friends Danny Clark had me back him up at church yesterday morning.  He played mandolin and sang lead and I play my guitar and sang tenor.

We performed two songs: Little White Church (how appropriate!) and Let Us Travel, Travel On, which is my favorite song to sing with Danny.  I learned it from The Dry Branch Fire Squad, but it is originally a Stanley Brothers song.
Here’s what I wore:
Dress: 50’s Vintage
Belt: Vintage Hand-Me-Down for Grandma Evelyn
Mocs: Minnetonka
It was a lovely service and the congregation seemed to really enjoy the music.
Thanks for reading friends.
Sincerely,
Nora Jane

Another fine night at The 5 Spot folks.

Skirt: 50’s Vintage
Top: American Apparel
Belt: Vintage Hand-me-down from Grandma Evelyn
Heals: Liz Clayborn?
This outfit is such a winner– I think I am going to wear it often this summer.
Thanks for reading friends.
Sincerely,
Nora Jane

Dear Friends,

It appears that old man winter rolled over Spring and now Summer is upon us.  Which means…dresses, dresses, and more dresses!
Here’s what I wore to band practice yesterday:
This cotton sun dress, from Zachary Smile in NYC, was made with pieces of vintage fabric.  My band-mate, Danny Clark, is sporting Liberty Overalls and a neon orange uke.
Life is good!
Thanks for reading friends,
